Driven by Seven

Unlike traditional one-size-fits-all driver training programs, Driven by Seven uses real-time performance data to provide customized training for each driver, ensuring maximum impact and faster improvement.

Driven by Seven is a fully embedded driver training platform inside Strategic Automated Fleet Engine (S.A.F.E.). By analyzing real driver data from electronic logging devices (ELDs) and video event data recorders (VEDRs), S.A.F.E. pinpoints unsafe driving behaviors. Driven by Seven then identifies one of the seven core safe driving principles and delivers tailored training to correct those issues quickly and effectively.

**All driver and manager training is included with S.A.F.E. for no additional cost.

Driven by Seven Core Principles

1. In-Cab Safety

Seat belt use, proper phone use, and compliance with in-cab rules.

2. Terminal Safety

Gate procedures, door-pull safety, PPE use, and terminal speed limits.

3. VEDR

Using dash cameras to monitor and improve driver behavior.

4. ELD & Hours of Service

Staying compliant with logging procedures, breaks, and driving limits.

5. Equipment Inspections

Preventing breakdowns and violations through thorough inspections.

6. Defensive Driving

Anticipating hazards, maintaining safe speeds, and avoiding risky maneuvers.

7. Driver Safety

Injury prevention, ergonomics, and equipment handling.

Manager Training

The Linehaul Manager Training Program is a comprehensive safety and compliance course designed specifically for contractor managers, Business Contacts (BCs), and Authorized Officers (AOs). Event-Driven Driver Coaching

S.A.F.E. delivers fast, targeted, and effective driver coaching to correct unsafe driving behaviors before they lead to violations or accidents. This video walks you through how our automated coaching process works — from identifying unsafe behaviors through the VEDR and ELD, to delivering personalized coaching in less than 24 hours.

How Driver Coaching Works

As S.A.F.E. collects real-time driving data from your Video Event Data Recorder (VEDR) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD), our human review team validates each event to confirm whether it’s an actual violation. Once validated, a coaching is automatically created and delivered to the driver — often within 24 hours — so feedback is fresh and actionable. Unsafe driving behaviors we track include:

  • Speeding
  • Following Distance
  • 11/14/70-Hour Rule Violations
  • Severe safety events like reckless driving, camera obstruction, and excessive speed
Coaching Styles That Get Results

We understand that different behaviors require different coaching styles. That’s why we tailor our approach across these coaching types:

  • Automatic Coaching Videos – Short, 1–2 minute clips that target the specific unsafe behavior.
  • Phone Call Coaching – Direct discussions with the driver or their manager for personal guidance.
  • Curative Training – In-depth training assignments to correct recurring or severe behaviors.
Accountability Through Coaching

Our coaching program uses a monthly event limit to promote accountability. This system ensures drivers know the expectations, understand the consequences, and have the support to improve their performance.

  • 1–2 events in a month? Normal coaching applies.
  • 3 events for the same behavior? We watch closely.
  • 4 events? Elevated to curative training.
  • More than four events? Recommended for disciplinary action.
Immediate Action for Severe Safety Events

Some safety issues can’t wait. For serious violations — such as reckless driving, obstructed cameras, or extreme speeding — one of our team members immediately calls the driver or manager to address the problem. This rapid response keeps your operation safe and compliant.
